It’s that time of the year when Bucharest is bursting of events promoting creatives and the creative industries. Romanian Design Week’s central exhibion is hosted at the Palace of the National Chamber of Commerce and will be open for the public until Sunday, the 25th of May.
The SOYESTERDAY collection reflects my obsession for geometric shapes and patterns. Inspired by the Bauhaus era and Jacques Tati’s movie Mon Oncle (1958), the low easy chair has a tubular metal structure that supports a wide seat and a cozy backrest pillow. Smooth and simple curves balance the striking colors used for the custom upholstery. The textile printed patterns embody the pop spirit of Elio Petri’s set for the movie The 10th Victim (1965).
It was designed for RDW and can be seen in the central exhitibion, product design section, at the first floor.
