Located in the old center of Bucharest, Bistro Smardan is a cozy venue with a terrace. The old brick walls were masked by wooden frames. Creeper plants were placed on top of the frames to grow through the metal wires, giving the impression of living paintings. I used chalkboard paint for the ceiling and remaining walls and designed custom graphics to highlight bar and kitchen specialties. Some graphic elements were rearranged in the design of the printed menus. The chairs and benches upholstery is created under Prada Usoara. I used plenty of wood to contrast the black surfaces and repurposed graters as hanging lamps, suspended from wooden beams.
